PROMOTING HISPANIC EDUCATION SINCE 1983
For over 35 years, Esperanza has supported the growing Hispanic community in Cleveland and worked to mitigate the issues facing Hispanic youth to ensure that they graduate from high school and access post-secondary education opportunities. To do this, Esperanza provides educational-based support services and programming to low-income Hispanic students throughout the City of Cleveland. Last year the agency served approximately 700 students and 300+ parents/caregivers to help increase academic success through directed individualized and group programs.
Our students have higher GPAs, are enrolled in school more days, and have decreased absenteeism than the overall school population. We achieve these results through the following programs:
Mentoring: Supporting youth to engage in high-quality social relationships, have a greater academic achievement, school engagement, school adjustment, and positive futures.
Academic Assistance: Offers academic support outside the classroom.
Family Engagement: Parent/guardian program that helps them support their child's education goals. Additional, support for families includes GED classes and English as a second language.
Hispanic Youth Leadership Program: Aims to raise the Hispanic CMSD graduation rate with curriculum focused on personal growth, resiliency and leadership; career and cultural awareness; community service; public policy education; and financial literacy.
Post-Secondary Support: Provides comprehensive and intensive case management; peer support; mentoring; internship access; and financial aid support with a goal of increasing college enrollment/retention and graduation among Hispanic students.
Your support will allow us to continue to work with students and families to give them the tools they need to beat the odds and succeed. Additionally, Esperanza is a tax-exempt IRC 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
